Description:
The loan officer is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for consumer loans. Also being able to hand out mortgage application and talk about the process of mortgages with the members. Meets with applicants to explain credit process and obtain additional loan information and documents needed for the loan. Assembles, pulls credit, calculates all ratios necessary, evaluates the loan application, and approves the loan if it fits within lending criteria and limits. Presents loan request outside of lending limits to Senior Lender or V.P. of Lending. Ensures members are promptly and professionally served. Closes and disburse loans. Proactivity seeks to generate additional loan opportunities by asking for referrals, credit mining for more lending opportunities, listening to the member's needs, and offering products to fit their needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Taking and reviewing applications for consumer loan business
- Explaining loan programs and advising members of available loan options and requirements
- Analyzing member financial information including credit history, credit score, collateral, and other factors to determine risk and ability to repay
- Making loan decisions within approval authority or forwarding requests to higher levels for approval
- Completing or directing the completion of all loan documentation and ensuring all records are accurate and complete
- Meeting with members to explain loan terms and conditions and to close loans
- Staying current on lending trends, new loan products, and financial services
- Supporting lending and deposit growth through cross-selling of products and services
- Monitoring loans for compliance with terms and coordinating with collections as needed
- Authorizing releases of collateral, loan term changes, payment waivers, and due date adjustments
- Attending required meetings and committees
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.
- Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Other Skills: Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing member and personal services. This includes member needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of member satisfaction. Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and chooses the most appropriate one. Talks to others to convey information effectively.

The Executive Assistant to the CEO & Management Team at 1st MS Federal Credit Union is a highly organized, discreet, and proactive professional who serves as the CEO’s primary point of contact, manages complex calendars and travel, and acts as the liaison to the Board of Directors. This role is responsible for preparing board materials, scheduling and attending meetings, taking and distributing minutes, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items. The ideal candidate is a strategic partner to senior leadership and an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrative contact for the CEO: manage calendar, prioritize meetings, screen requests, and coordinate internal/external communications.
- Plan, coordinate, and book all CEO travel, conferences, and accommodations; prepare detailed itineraries and handle travel expense reporting.
- Act as the official liaison to the Board of Directors: coordinate board meeting logistics (scheduling, venue/virtual setup, catering,), assist with assembly and distribution of the board packet and supplementary materials in advance of meetings, and maintain board records.
- Attend management meetings, take accurate minutes, draft meeting summaries, and distribute minutes and action items promptly to stakeholders.
- Schedule, organize and support management team meetings, prepare agendas, materials, and follow up on deliverables.
- Maintain confidential files and records, including board materials, executive correspondence, and sensitive HR/operational documents.
- Draft, proofread and distribute correspondence, memos, presentations, and reports on behalf of the CEO and management team.
- Coordinate special projects requests from the CEO and senior leadership (events, executive offsites, strategic initiatives).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with board members, external vendors, and conference/hotel contacts.
- Ensure timely follow-up on action items, track status, and escalate as necessary.
- Maintain and improve administrative systems, processes, and templates to increase executive efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years’ experience supporting C-level executives (Executive Assistant experience strongly preferred).
- Prior experience supporting or coordinating with boards of directors preferred.
- Excellent minute-taking skills and proven ability to produce clear, accurate meeting minutes and action item trackers.
- Strong calendar and travel management experience (including complex itineraries and international travel).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Teams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills; able to juggle competing priorities.
- Flexibility to work occasional early/late hours to accommodate board meetings or the CEO’s travel schedule.
