The mission of 1st Mississippi Federal Credit Union is to help our members provide a better quality of life for themselves by helping them meet their financial needs.
In order to do this, we will:

Uphold the credit union philosophy of members helping members, not for profit, not for charity, but for service.

Listen to our members and make every reasonable attempt to provide the services they want and need.

Adequately staff the credit union both with volunteers and staff, making sure that each receives sufficient training.

Maintain the financial strength of the credit union in order to insure its continued operation.

We believe in the people of our communities, and we are here to serve your financial future, give you financial support, and guide you through your financial life. Through 1st Mississippi you have the opportunity to grow your finances and fulfill your dreams.
We are supporting our communities through local financial seminars that give you the power to manage your finances so you can get what you want out of life for you and your family.
We are supporting our communities through sponsorships and support of local organizations, teams, and clubs. We believe that by working within our communities we can share financial knowledge that will make a difference in the lives of our members.

1st Mississippi Federal Credit Union, Meridian, MS, was recognized by the Mississippi Credit Union Association for promoting and advocating for the credit union movement through our support of credit union advocacy initiatives.
Initiatives in the Mississippi Credit Union Advocacy Award Program include support of credit union political action committees, participation in credit union advocacy programs and initiatives, and helping lawmakers understand the unique structure of credit unions and the benefits they provide to their member-owners and community.
1st Mississippi Federal Credit Union employees were also recognized for our voluntary participation in the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) Payroll Deduction Program (PRD), which helps support and defend the credit union movement.

1st Mississippi Federal Credit Union was recognized for 50 years of service during the Mississippi Credit Union Association Annual Meeting and Convention and received a certificate honoring our anniversary.

Approximately 500 high school students from all 4 Lauderdale County schools got a taste of independence at our 2022 Reality Fair. Teens pretend they graduated from high school or college and are the sole financial supporter of their household. Each student was assigned a family scenario, a career and a salary. Participants will visit booths to make life-changing financial decisions about housing, transportation, groceries, utilities and other areas of real life. 1st MS FCU enjoyed hosting the 2022 Reality Fair with 3 other local credit unions.
Kicking off Thanksgiving week, 1st MS, The United Way and the Wesley House Community Center began their day handing out six hundred bags to our community filled with items to make a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

1st MS collected needed school supplies and uniforms to donate to The United Way's "Stuff The Bus" Campaign. These items are distributed to our local city and county elementary schools so that no child will be without needed supplies or clothing for the 2020 school year.

The Meridian Chapter of Credit Unions donated 50 gift baskets to East Central Area Agency on Aging to help provide essentials for their program participants during this difficult time. East Central Area Agency on Aging provides programs and services funded through the Mississippi Department of Human Services Division of Aging & Adult Services, and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security. These services directly or indirectly impact the lives of older persons, but all work together with the common interest of improving the quality of life for older individuals. The Chapter participants include 1st MS FCU, Meridian Mutual FCU, MUNA FCU and Meridian MS ANG FCU.

As a community project, employees of 1st MS FCU donated hygiene items and other goodies to Southern Care Hospice for their patients who are home bound or in nursing home facilities. Pictured with a few of our donations is Sharon Ianne, Patient/Volunteer Coordinator, of Southern Care Hospice.

DENZEL WASHINGTON- Thank you for your donations to our Teddy Bear fund we participated in for our Meridian and Quitman Police departments. We appreciate you all for helping to better our community!

1st MS FCU is proud to announce that four of our employees completed the 2018 Class of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors! We are so proud of all your commitments to helping our credit union's members better understand their financies and financial decisions. Graduating employees are Tiffany Stringfellow, Melissa Millier, Mary-Ryan Thomas and Sherri Peairs.

Thank you Hilton Garden Inn for allowing us to join in on your Lunch and Learn on June 28th. We provided their employees with credit union knowledge and information on how to build their credit and save for their future. We also open up new membership accounts on site! All four Lauderdale county credit unions joined in together today to sponsor another successful Reality Fair to our local county schools. Thank you to all of our volunteers, students and teachers who attended.
